They may not rule Italian soccer like once before, but Inter Milan and AC Milan are still big enough clubs to make the Milan Derby one of the most special in world soccer.
The two sides meet in Sunday’s marquee match, and while it is still early in the Serie A season, a victory in the Milan derby would go a long way to giving one of these teams a boost, particularly with reigning champion Juventus off to a winless start.
In England, Tottenham and Sunderland square off in a battle of teams still searching for their first win of the season. DeAndre Yedlin won’t take part in the match as part of his loan agreement to Sunderland, but his chances for playing time with the Black Cats might increase if Spurs can finally hit their stride and post a victory.
In MLS, the New England Revolution take on Toronto FC in a key Eastern Conference battle. The Revs are unbeaten in six straight, but will take on a TFC side led by U.S. national teamers Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore, and potentially Sebastian Giovinco if he can recover from injury.
One match not available on American television, but one worth chasing down online, is the latest installment of the Superclasico between Boca Juniors and River Plate. The Argentine powers square off for the first time since last May, when their Copa Libertadores clash was postponed after River Plate players were attacked with pepper spray by Boa Juniors supporters.
