Soccer Thursday: Your Running Commentary

While CONCACAF Champions League action continues to fill the midweek schedule, a showdown in France headlines action in Europe.

AS Monaco heads to La Mosson to face off against last-place Montpellier in Ligue 1 action. Monaco has not looked like its former self from just a year ago, as the team has started off shaky in league play.

However, a road result against Montpellier, which hasn’t registered a win in six matches to start its campaign, may be exactly what it needs to spark a good run.

Meanwhile, Real Salt Lake will look to become the fourth MLS side to advance to the knockout stages of the CCL when it hosts Santa Tecla. Tigres UANL can all but effectively top its group against Isidro Metapaan Thursday. A win would see the Mexican club secure a three point lead with one game to play.
