The UEFA Champions League fills Wednesday afternoon’s schedule, with Barcelona hoping to start its campaign for a repeat title against AS Roma.

While Lionel Messi is set to make his 100th UCL appearance when he takes the field at Stadio Olimpico, Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique will face off against his former side, as he coached Roma in the 2011-12 season.

Meanwhile, CONCACAF Champions League action stretches into the night, with Deportivo Saprissa looking to inch closer to winning Group A against W Connection.

MLS also has three important games on tap. One of those matchups has Supporters’ Shield implications, as the New England Revolution host current Eastern Conference leaders New York Red Bulls.

  1. Is this the first time both NY teams have played at once? If you live in the NYC area and get both games, this is awesome! Both games super entertaining and two goals in the first five minutes in the nyrb game.
