Following a series of surprising results in Tuesday’s action, the UEFA Champions League continues Wednesday with some of the competition’s heavy hitters.
Wednesday’s action is headlined by a matchup pitting last year’s runner-up in Juventus against reigning Europa League champions Sevilla. Although both sides enter riding UCL wins, the duo are struggling in their respective leagues, with Sevilla currently sitting 16th in La Liga while Juve sits one place better in Serie A.
The day also presents a matchup pitting Manchester City against Germany’s Borussia Mönchengladbach in a clash of big-league contenders. Elsewhere, Manchester United faces a German foe as well in VfL Wolfsburg, Real Madrid takes on Sweden’s Malmö FF and Atlético Madrid clashes with Portuguese power Benfica.
Evening action is headlined by a cup final, as the U.S. Open Cup wraps up Wednesday night with a clash between Sporting KC and the Philadelphia Union at PPL Park.

Fabian commits a foul in box in the final minute of regular time and Aguero converts the penalty to give Man City the 2-1 lead. Bummer. Fabian was having a generally acceptable game. Nothing great but nothing horrible until that moment. He was moved back to RB for the final 15 mins.
Why you gotta be low def foxsport 2.
Man U vs Wolfsburg=faulty ignitions vs dodgy diesels
Fabian seems to be switching freely from RM and LM depending on how the team breaks out of the defensive half.
Now mainly on left side.
Fabian with a good run early on and sets up a teammate who flubs the shot. Good run and ball control by Fabian.
Tonight’s final will be on ESPN 2… C’mon the U!
Open Cup also being shown on ESPN2 tonight
Much better than having to watch it on a bad stream (if at all) as in year’s past. Twellman & Darke are calling it from CT, but at least they’re calling it
Assuming he plays today, Fabian’s first ever champions league game today, right?
Freddy Adu on tv! He made an appearance last week so good chance he will play some part today.
Suarez or Lewandoski?
go away
Jozy or Adu?
