Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus has an injury bug that won’t seem to go away.
The 26-year-old star has not played with the German national team (DFB) since September 2014, and he also missed out on being a member of the World Cup winning team in Brazil with a left ankle injury. Now Reus is set to miss important UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers due to a fractured left toe he suffered in training.
He will miss Germany’s first qualifying match against Group D leader Poland, who lead DFB by just one point, and Reus will also be unavailable for Joachim Low when the team travels to Glasgow to take on Scotland, who sits in third, Monday.
“The 26-year-old left the Germany camp in Frankfurt late on Wednesday,” DFB’s website said in an announcement. “The DFB’s medical department diagnosed a slightly broken distal phalanx of his left big toe.”

DAVID DE GEA’S AGENT WORKING ON A MANCHESTER UNITED EXTENSION
Days after being on the verge of becoming a Real Madrid goalkeeper, David De Gea appears set to extend his stay at Manchester United.
According to Spanish outlet AS, De Gea’s agent, Jorge Mendes, said they are already in contact with the club in order to extend his current contract, which is set to expire at the end of June 2016.
Wednesday, Spanish national team head coach Vicente Del Bosque said it would be “very difficult” to consider De Gea as a call-up for Euro 2016 if he is not playing regularly, and an extension with the Old Trafford club would be a step in the direction to reclaim his starting role.
BAYERN MUNICH, PSG WANTED DE BRUYNE BEFORE MANCHESTER CITY MOVE
Manchester City added plenty of talent during the summer transfer window, but the pursuit to sign top talent wasn’t easy.
According to Kevin De Bruyne’s agent, Patrick De Koster, the midfielder had plenty of interest from Europe’s top clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
Ultimately, De Bruyne, 24, moved to Manchester City for a reported transfer fee of $84.8 million.
“We had heard that Bayern had an interest,” De Koster told sporza. “I then called them myself and we moved things along quite quickly, but two days later Bayern decided not to do it. I didn’t use Bayern to drive up the price. I’m not a carpet salesman.
“PSG were also interested. That surprised City, because the sheikhs (the owners of the two clubs) know each other well. Wolfsburg understood that it wouldn’t hurt to listen. Then we started building towards the deal, with the amounts getting higher and higher. Eventually the pieces all fell together.”

Wait…so are Man United not willing to play unless he extends? That is the implication because he could walk for free in June or Man Utd get a lot less in January. However, if he does that and is not playing, he will not be on the Spain squad if he is not playing.
It is mutually beneficial for De Gea and MUFC to extend his contract.
