New York’s two MLS clubs now have Ghana internationals, as the African nation has called in Lloyd Sam and Kwadwo Poku.

Ghana faces off against Canada on Tuesday in a friendly at RFK Stadium, and the Black Stars announced Saturday the late additions of Sam and Poku for the game in the U.S. capital.

Sam, a 31-year-old right midfielder for the New York Red Bulls, receives his first call-up after a career that saw him play with Charlton Athletic and Leeds United in England before arriving in MLS. In 28 games played so far in 2015, Sam has 10 goals and six assists, which have helped the Red Bulls take the first-place position in the Supporters’ Shield race.

Poku, 23, has only started six league games this year for expansion outfit New York City FC, but has made 25 appearances. He has scored four goals and assisted on seven more.

The pair join fellow MLS call-ups in Chicago Fire forward David Accam and Columbus Crew defender Harrison Afful on Ghana’s roster.

What do you think of the Sam and Poku call-ups to Ghana? See them playing against Canada? Will their games translate over successfully to the international level?
