After weeks of speculation, the future of Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich has now been officially revealed.
The Spanish manager that led FC Barcelona to 24 trophies in four seasons will once again be on his way this summer, Bayern announced on Sunday ahead of the Bundesliga winter break. Taking his place on July 1, 2016, will be experienced European manager Carlo Ancelotti.
“We are grateful to Pep Guardiola for everything he has given our club since 2013,” said Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. “I am convinced that Pep and our team will now work even more intensively towards achieving our major sporting goals.”
As Guardiola steps out the back door, the very successful Ancelotti will look to come in and make his mark on the perennial German champions. Ancelotti has won the UEFA Champions League on three separate occasions with two different clubs: in 2003 and 2007 with AC Milan, and most recently “La Decima” in 2013 with Real Madrid.
Guardiola joined Bayern Munich ahead of the 2013-14 season, and has led the side to four trophies in the past two seasons. While the German champions look set to retain their title for the third straight year under Guardiola, it remains to be seen if the team can advance to its first Champions League final under the manager.

Ancelotti is an excellent manager and it’s already pretty clear RM made a big mistake getting rid of him. Putting 10 goals past nine-man Rayo is nice but RM can’t compete with Barca.
