Soccer Wednesday: Your Running Commentary

FC+Porto+v+Chelsea+FC+UEFA+Champions+League+lLcxU7TSzIEl
Heading into the final round of fixtures in the Champions League group stages, both Arsenal and Chelsea find themselves in do-or-die situations.

Facing off with Greek side Olympiakos, Arsenal will need a big-time victory to avoid missing out on the knockout stages for the first time in 16 years. The Gunners will need either a two-goal win or a one-goal victory while scoring at least three to seal passage to the next stage.

Chelsea, meanwhile, currently lead Group G, but will need a result to ensure passage to the next round. Facing off with FC Porto, a draw would put Chelsea through, while a loss could see the Blues eliminated with a Dynamo Kiev victory.

Elsewhere, Valencia and Gent battle to advance against Lyon and Zenit, respectively, while Roma, Bayer Leverkusen or BATE could come out of Group E in second place behind Barcelona.

  1. Julian Green in the starting 11 for Bayern today. Yeah it’s a meaningless game but lets hope he impresses. Maybe he can get another loan spell in January.
