Following two November World Cup qualifiers, the U.S. Men’s National Team’s standing in FIFA’s latest rankings rose.

FIFA’s most recent rankings came out on Thursday, and the USMNT climbed one spot to 32nd in the world. The U.S. had previously fallen four spots after a loss to Mexico in the CONCACAF Cup and a friendly defeat to Costa Rica, but the move back up the ladder is attributed to the Americans’ start in World Cup qualification.

The USMNT easily defeated St. Vincent & the Grenadines, 6-1, before playing to a scoreless tie with Trinidad & Tobago in Port of Spain.

Meanwhile, Germany continues to fall down FIFA’s rankings as Argentina and Spain move ahead of the 2014 World Cup winner and into second and third, respectively, forcing Germany into fourth.

Hungary and the Republic of Ireland were the biggest winners in this month’s edition of the rankings, as the former jumped 13 spots into 20th while Ireland moved 11 spots into 31st. These movements come after the pair qualified for Euro 2016 via the competition’s playoffs round of qualification.

What do you think of the FIFA rankings? Think the U.S. is rated too high, too low, or just right? Which teams do you see ranked most unfairly?

    • I’ll blame Klinsmann for this current low, if you give him credit for taking over Bradley’s 28th ranked team and climbing to 13th by the end of 2013.
