After numerous trades and high-profile selections were on display during last week’s first and second rounds of the 2016 MLS Draft, the final two rounds concluded on Tuesday.

The third and fourth rounds were completed today via conference call, and featured the selection of a fourth Georgetown defender. Four-year Hoya Josh Turnley was taken 42nd overall by the Los Angeles Galaxy, who later passed on its final two selections in this year’s draft.

The Colorado Rapids were the most active team on the day, using all four of its draft picks in the remaining two rounds. Pablo Mastroeni’s side began the afternoon by selecting Ohio State goalkeeper Chris Frouchauer, who could potentially be in line to compete following the recently trade of Clint Irwin.

Both New York teams, New York City FC and the New York Red Bulls, were held out of the latter rounds with neither side making a selection. NYCFC made just one pick in the entire draft, acquiring Wake Forest attacker Jack Harrison in a trade with the Chicago Fire.

  1. I dont get the pass. Why not draft a guy and bring him in for a look. If you don’t like what you see, then move on. I dont think there is any financial ramifications. Is there?

  2. Union’s pick in the 3rd round was Mitch Lurie (have Taylor Washington listed there now – they picked him in the 2nd round).
