David Beckham’s search for potential partners is remains ongoing and could lead him to a partnership with a familiar club.

According to the Guardian, Beckham’s group is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain, as well as several other groups, over the sale of an equity stake in the MLS Miami franchise. It was reported last week that Beckham was looking for potential investors as the team continues to finalize details on a potential stadium. The goal, according to reports, was for a partner to help with “lightening the load” of the financial costs of putting together the project.

Beckham’s group confirmed the search with a statement, revealing that finding a partner was always part of the club’s plans going forward. Even with the potential sale, which reportedly could be finalized in the next several weeks, Beckham will remain the focal point of the club.

“As Miami Beckham United lays the groundwork for launching a world class soccer club in Miami, our team has attracted interest from a number of potential partners,” the statement reads.“David Beckham, Simon Fuller and Marcelo Claure are evaluating these possibilities, with the goal of bringing additional resources and international expertise that draws players, staff and fans from around the world.

“Any potential partner will share our team’s vision of creating a team that makes Miami and MLS proud. At the same time, we are performing due diligence on our stadium site as we move toward finalizing the acquisition of two privately held properties and a third county-owned parcel over the coming weeks.”

Beckham’s Miami project, which is still targeting a start date of 2018, is hoping to finalize a deal for land in Overtown within the next several months.

What do you think of MLS Miami’s statement? Would PSG be a good fit as a partner? What are your expectations from the club for the coming months?
