Ahead of its debut season, Puerto Rico FC has made its first two signings, while the New York Cosmos have also added a new face to bolster the team’s backline.
Midfielder Joseph “Jackie” Marrero and forward Pedro Mendes have been signed as Puerto Rico FC’s first two players ahead of the club’s Fall debut. Marrero has been a part of the Puerto Rico national team since 2011, while Mendes has previously featured for Indy Eleven, Minnesota United and the Atlanta Silverbacks (REPORT)
The Cosmos have added 23-year-old Kenyan international David Ochieng. The centerback, who has made 15 appearances and scored four goals internationally, most recently featured for Al-Taawoun FC of Saudi Arabia.
The Fort Lauderdale Strikers have signed Haitian national team midfielder Jean Alexandre, who served as his nation’s captain at the 2013 Gold Cup. Alexandre was Real Salt Lake’s first round selection in the 2009 MLS Draft and was a member of the team’s 2009 MLS Cup-winning team. (REPORT)
Ottawa Fury FC has announced a multi-year partnership with adidas, who will serve as the club’s official kit and apparel provider. (REPORT)
