After a stint with the Columbus Crew, U.S. youth international Romain Gall has completed a move to Europe.
The 21-year-old midfielder has joined Nyköpings BIS of the Swedish first division, according to the team’s official website.
Gall began his professional playing career in France, after signing with Ligue 1 side Lorient’s reserve team. While with the Crew from 2014 to 2015, Gall made three appearances for the club, before being loaned out to Austin Aztex of USL. He was released by the Crew in February, prior to the start of the new MLS season.
Additionally, Gall was a key member of the U.S. Under-20 national team over the last two years, scoring 13 goals in 25 appearances.
The 2016 Swedish Allsvenskan season kicks off for Nyköpings on April 16 when they face Vasalund.
What do you think of Gall’s move to Sweden? Would he have been better suited in the U.S.?
