Many star players are set to take part in Week 2 of MLS, but Kaka is not one of them.

On Tuesday, Orlando City SC head coach Adrian Heath said the Brazilian playmaker would not play in Friday’s contest vs. the Chicago Fire, but Antonio Nocerino should be fit and available for selection. Kaka is currently suffering a thigh injury, and Heath added that he and the club are keeping their “fingers crossed” in the hopes he will be ready to play against New York City FC on March 18. Sporting Kansas City has acquired Chilean forward Diego Rubio on loan from Spanish side Real Valladolid. The 22-year-old made 14 appearances for Valladolid during the 2015-16 season, and will occupy an international roster spot for Sporting. (REPORT)

Chris Konopka has agreed to a deal with Scottish Premiership club Ross County FC, after recently being released by Toronto FC in December. The Scottish club remains hopeful the veteran goalkeeper will be available for Sunday’s League Cup final against Hibernian. (REPORT)

NYCFC will reportedly acquire Colombian striker Steven Mendoza on loan from Corinthians. Mendoza would count as the 12th international player on NYCFC’s roster, if the deal were to be made official. (REPORT)
