It was a weekend full of upsets in MLS, as several players stepped up in a big way to lead their teams to victory over highly-favored opposition.
Led by a pair of goals from Chris Pontius, the Philadelphia Union knocked off the Columbus Crew at MAPFRE Stadium, while Andrew Wenger and David Horst helped inspire the Houston Dynamo’s 5-0 thrashing of FC Dallas.
Up top, a pair of familiar faces shined. Sebastian Giovinco netted a goal and an assist to push Toronto FC to a come-from-behind draw with NYCFC. In Kansas City, Dom Dwyer netted a spectacular strike as part of a brace that sunk the Vancouver Whitecaps.

LOL. Pirlo? If Pirlo made the best XI then the rest of the league must really, REALLY suck. Like, REALLY suck.
its impossible to take MLS seriously at any level. Like, REALLY impossible to take them seriously.
He started in CL final 9 months ago. Now, he has 1 best XI appearance and this means MLS sucks? You just embarrass yourself time and time again
Why do you keep reading articles about MLS then? Go find a hobby, nitwit.
Wow,…how about Andrew Wenger. You wonder if this kid is going to explode in Houston.
It would be the Philly way!! In all honesty I hope he does well. His off and on from 2014 – 2015, was just maddening.
As soon as a young player starts to thrive at Houston, he gets injured. Sadly, it is the way of things. Let’s hope Wenger breaks (no pun intended) that pattern.
Pirlo? Really?
David Villa scored 2….
