Soccer Thursday: Your Running Commentary

Only eight clubs will move on in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

Tottenham-Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United-Liverpool headline the second legs of the round of 16, and both home sides have a lot of work to do if they are to advance.

Dortmund currently holds a 3-0 lead over the Spurs, while the Reds have a 2-0 advantage heading into Old Trafford.

In the evening, Copa Libertadores action takes over. All eyes will be on Pumas UNAM-Deportivo Táchira, as both atop Group 7 with six points through three games.

    • He looked good. He has a very tidy first touch, is surprisingly strong when defending for his size and age, but most impressively I thought he showed real confidence and skill a few times when running at defenders. He didn’t have too many touches but Dortmund were defending most of the second half. Just sitting back and holding the lead.

      “You know it is game over when the opposition bring off their star man and replace him with a 17-year-old American kid who you have never heard of.”
