A few golazos, a Scottish derby and matches with important league and European title implications. This past week had that all and then some. Here are SBI’s picks for the weekend’s best (as voted by SBI’s editorial staff):
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SERGIO AGUERO (Manchester City). A hat trick from Aguero handed Manchester City a crucial three points to stay alive in the English Premier League campaign. The Argentine now has 21 goals this campaign — one less than league leaders Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy.
Honorable Mention – Robert Lewandowski, Angel Di Maria
TEAM OF THE WEEK
BAYERN MUNICH. After advancing to the UEFA Champions League semifinals, Bayern stomped all over Schalke 04 to inch closer to another German Bundesliga title. Robert Lewandowski scored twice over the weekend to lead Bayern to a 3-0 victory.
Honorable Mention – Juventus, Valencia, AS Monaco, Manchester City
MATCH OF THE WEEK
RANGERS FC 2 (5), CELTIC 2 (4). Another Old Firm derby for the ages played out over the weekend, as Rangers topped rival Celtic in penalty kicks to advance to the Scottish Cup final.
Honorable Mention – Leicester City 2 – 2 West Ham United, Atalanta 3 – 3 AS Roma
GOAL OF THE WEEK
GIANLUCA LAPADULA (Pescana). You won’t see many better overhead kicks than the one Lapadula pulled off over the weekend against Cesena in the Italian Serie B.
Honorable Mention – Kevin Kampl, Barrie McKay

I would’ve liked that goal more if he weren’t offside.
