While most Americans abroad have now entered their off-seasons, the few that remain with their club team have a lot on the line.
Timmy Chandler is halfway through the Bundesliga playoff, with his Eintracht Frankfurt side tied 1-1 with his old club, Nurnberg. Chandler played 90 minutes in the opening leg at home, but the pressure still looms large in the second leg.
In other post-season playoffs, Americans are representing all four Liga MX clubs left in the playoffs. William Yarbrough and Club Leon are all level with Omar Gonzalez and Pachuca after drawing 1-1 in the first leg. In the other semifinal, Ventura Alvarado and Club America lead Edgar Castillo and Monterrey 1-0 headed into the second leg.m,.kAmerican fans could be treated to appearances from two young prospects in European cup finals this weekend. Christian Pulisic could play in the DFB Pokal final, as Borussia Dortmund go up against Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich in his last game in charge. In Scotland, Gedion Zelalem is likely to get minutes as Rangers face off against Hibernian in the league’s domestic cup final.

Interestingly enough, when Ethan Horvath takes the field against Brann this weekend, his opponents’ second-string goalkeeper will likely be an American with a very similar-looking name: Alex Horwath!
