After leaving Argentina’s friendly against Honduras on Friday, Lionel Messi’s Copa America status is up in the air with the tournament looming.

Messi exited Friday’s match in the 64th minute after taking a knee to the lower back during Argentina’s 1-0 victory. Argentina team doctor Daniel Martinez says their star attacker was suffering from “intense pain” but further scans haven’t revealed any bone damage. (REPORT)

  1. The Messi injury was kind of puzzling. He took a tumble into a Honduras player, whose knee then went into Messi’s back as he fell over him. It didn’t look bad (or deliberate), but Messi seemed to be in real pain after. Hope it’s nothing.
