After days of speculation, Kwadwo Poku is officially headed to South Beach.

On Wednesday, the New York City FC midfielder completed a move to Miami FC, as the club continues to rebuild its core ahead of the NASL’s Fall Season.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian appeared in 34 matches across all competitions for NYCFC in his two seasons with the team, scoring five goals and adding seven assists in that span.

“This is a move that really makes sense for us,” NYCFC sporting director Claudio Reyna said. “Miami came with a significant offer that will give us options in the summer transfer window and beyond. We know and understand that at this stage of his career playing regular first team football is very important to Poku.”

“We’d like to thank Poku for his contribution to the building of New York City FC on and off the pitch” Reyna said. “Everyone at the club wishes him the very best in this next chapter of his career.”

With the move, Poku joins fellow additions in Richie Ryan and Michael Lahoud as part of Miami FC’s spending spree. Sources also tell SBI that Miami FC will add Gabriel Farfan in the coming days.

What do you think of the move? How will Poku fare in Miami?
