The U.S. Women’s National Team will begin their Olympic Games title defense in August, and Jill Ellis’ side will do so in a brand new kit.
On Tuesday, Nike and the USWNT revealed the new home jersey ahead of this summer’s tournament in Rio de Janeiro. The defending World Cup champions will resume wearing their current home jersey following the conclusion of the Olympics.
The new kit features three “USA” logos, one on the front of the jersey, opposite the Nike logo, another appears on the back collar and the final lettering is shown on the shorts.
The U.S. will kick off their Olympic run on August 3 against New Zealand.
Not a huge fan. Too simple, I’m all for clean but this is too clean, no imagination.
Daddy, I want the Olympic jersey so I can be just like Carly. A month later at the victory match wearing said all white jersey, “Daddy I want the jersey with the blue shoulders Carly is wearing.” Dad trudges to merchandise stand.
I like it!!! Very clean looking with the other National Colors shown as accents with the
stripes and logo. Every GREAT Soccer Team I have ever seen had a white uniform, and
IMHO, they always looked smart when wearing it. Good Choice!!!!!
Not bad. Better than the last 2-3 years attempts.
Really time for Nike to clean up their act. They sponsor just about every USA team. A simple American design like this for everyone would be great
Looks like USA table tennis uniforms.
I have to say that I really like these. Nice and simple but keeps that American feel with the colors obviously. I know it says the federation will do without them after the games are over but it would have been nice to parlay this kit throughout the entire US program post Rio!
