The next MLS expansion team could be making a big splash ahead of their debut season in 2017, while one of the league’s best defenders is moving on.

Trinidad & Tobago forward Kenwyne Jones is reportedly close to signing a deal with expansion side Atlanta United FC. The 31-year-old most recently played for Cardiff City of the English Championship. (REPORT)

Toronto FC and defender Damien Perquis have mutually agreed to part ways, after signing with the Canadian side in 2015. (REPORT)

Real Salt Lake has loaned forward Devon Sandoval to NASL side Rayo OKC for the remainder of the 2016 season. The 25-year-old appeared in 10 matches this season, and failed to score a goal in that span. (REPORT)

D.C. United has reportedly made an offer to 22-year-old winger Andy Polo. The Millonarios midfielder is currently on loan with Peruvian side Universitario de Deportes. (REPORT)

Argentine side San Lorenzo has confirmed the sale of Hector Villalba to MLS, although the player’s destination remains unknown. (REPORT)

  1. Shouldn’t we be hearing about a coach signing before they start signing all these players? Seems to me if I were a coach of an expansion team, I’d want some input on the players that are coming in.

  2. word out of Argentina is that Atlanta bought villalba and he’s going on loan to tijuana fc until the end of the year. very good pick up, by the way
