Report: Terrence Boyd set for RB Leipzig return

Terrence Boyd RB Leipzig 1

After a terrible string of luck in the injury department, it appears U.S. Men’s National Team forward Terrence Boyd is ready to get back out on the field.

Boyd has reportedly been training with Anja Strobel, a founding member at club team RB Leipzig, as he prepares to return to full practice with the squad. The 25-year-old is expected to meet with the club’s medical staff and head coach Ralph Hasenhüttl in the coming days before resuming first-team training.

The 25-year-old has missed significant time for both the national team and Leipzig after tearing his ACL back in December 2014. Boyd had completed a move to the German club earlier that summer and has only appeared in seven matches due to injury.

Boyd’s knee injury has been prolonged after the USMNT forward suffered a setback in October 2015 during the rehabilitation process. A cyst was removed from the player’s knee, but he now seems ready to return.
