After making just five Bundesliga appearances since joining the league in 2013, U.S. midfielder Caleb Stanko is set for a temporary move that will hopefully jumpstart the youngster’s European career.

Stanko, 23, will join FC Vaduz of the Swiss Super League on a one-year loan from German side Freiburg. During the 2015/16 season, Stanko appeared in five matches for Freiburg, who was promoted from 2.Bundesliga to Germany’s top flight after finishing atop the table.

FC Vaduz began its new season with a 1-1 tie against FC Thun over the weekend and currently sits in fifth place on the Swiss Super League table.

The U.S. midfielder received his first international call up in 2016, when head coach Jurgen Klinsmann named Stanko to the U.S. Men’s National Team’s roster ahead of their match against Puerto Rico.

What do you think of the move? How will Stanko fare with his new club?
