Bobby Wood’s competitive debut with Hamburg was a successful one, even if the forward could not etch his name on the scoresheet.

In DFB-Pokal action, Hamburg topped FSV Zwickau, 1-0, on a 70th minute finish fromĀ Alen Halilovic. Wood, whostarted Monday’s match and played the complete 90 minutes, nearly scored his first goal for the club in the 75th minute, but saw his shot from the center of the box denied by the post.

Andrew Wooten did not earn the start for Sandhausen, but did enter as a second half substitute in 2-1 win over Paderborn. Christian Pulisic was not so lucky, as he dressed but did not play in a 3-0 Borussia Dortmund rout led by a Shinji Kagawa brace.
