It’s a blow for the New York Red Bulls, but the team will be counting their blessings that it wasn’t worse than Monday’s news revealed.
After leaving Sunday’s 2-2 draw against the Chicago Fire with a leg injury, Red Bulls midfielder Dax McCarty has been ruled out four to six weeks with a fractured tibia.
The news was first reported by FourFourTwo.

Given the extent of McCarty’s injury, young midfielder Sean Davis will likely figure into the team’s plans over the next month-plus as the Red Bulls captain prepares to fight his way back onto the field.
Bedoya to RBNY now. (I mean, God bless Dax and I wish him a speedy recovery, but every touch of the ball that is not Dax’s is potentially Conor Lade’s….)
Second year in a row that RBNY have lost a key player to a broken leg.
