Brazil could seal a historic achievement on Saturday in the Olympic gold medal game, while the returns of La Liga and Serie A headline Saturday’s action.

In Rio, Brazil looks to capture the country’s first ever gold medal in Olympic soccer in a clash with Germany, the same country that thrashed them, 7-1, at the 2014 World Cup. Neymar and co. are coming off of a lopsided win of their own, a 6-0 beatdown of Honduras in the semifinal round.

While Neymar looks to take care of business in Brazil, reigning La Liga champions Barcelona return to action on Saturday for a season-opening clash with Real Betis. Italy’s champions, Juventus, also takes the field for a meeting with Fiorentina.

Meanwhile, English action is headlined by a champion as well as Leicester City hosts Arsenal. Elsewhere, Tottenham takes on Crystal Palace, Manchester City visits Stoke City and Liverpool take on Burnley.

The afternoon and evening’s action features a large slate of MLS, NASL and Liga MX action, with a contest pitting the LA Galaxy against NYCFC serving as the main event.

    • Is Cameron injured? It would be surprising to see him fall out of the starting lineup after having played so well last year for both club and country. I know he’s 31 now, but it seemed like he was at the top of his game technically and athletically, solid at CB and challenging for minutes at DM.
