The U.S. Women’s National Team remains focused on the upcoming Olympics, but the team’s first two post-Olympic friendlies have officially been confirmed.

Following this summer’s tournament, the USWNT will stage two post-Olympic friendlies against Thailand and the Netherlands in September, the federation announced on Wednesday. The first match will be on Thursday, Sept. 15 at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus before the USWNT battles the Dutch at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on Sunday, Sept. 18.

The U.S. has never faced Thailand, but has played against the Netherlands on six occasions, winning the last five meetings.

The USWNT opens its Olympic schedule on Wednesday versus New Zealand in Belo Horizonte.

What do you expect from the friendlies? How do you see the USWNT faring in the Olympics?

  1. I like to see International Friendlies as often as they can be scheduled. They give the coaches
an opportunity to take a look at newer players for the purpose of forming their International Tournament Rosters.
