Following the end of both the transfer window and the most recent international break, the contingent of Americans Abroad are finally settled in with their clubs. Now, a swift return to club action is on the schedule as several U.S. Men’s National Team regulars face big games over the weekend.
Headlining the weekend’s slate is Bundesliga action, which could see several Americans take the field. Following a stellar two-game stay with the U.S., Christian Pulisic could see time for Borussia Dortmund in a clash with Terrence Boyd’s RB Leipzig. A match between FC Ingolstadt and Hertha Berlin could also see Americans collide as John Brooks faces off with Alfredo Morales. Elsewhere, Fabian Johnson and Borussia Monchengladbach take on Freiburg, while Bobby Wood’s Hamburg faces a stiff test against Bayer Leverkusen.
In England, Geoff Cameron’s Stoke City faces the toughest match of the weekend in a clash with Cameron Carter-Vickers’ Tottenham, while former Spurs fullback, DeAndre Yedlin, could make his first Newcastle United start against Derby County.
Elsewhere, Edgar Castillo’s Monterrey takes on the growing American group at Tijuana, while Matt Miazga could see action in his Eredivisie first game as his new club, Vitesse, faces off with traditional powerhouses Ajax.
