There’s a new team atop the SBI College Soccer Top 25 following one of the season’s most exciting games..

Following Syracuse’s midweek loss to Notre Dame, Maryland has reclaimed the top spot thanks to a 2-0 victory over Michigan State. The Notre Dame win, which came on a last-gasp goal from forward Jon Gallagher with just 18 seconds left, propels the Fighting Irish up to third in the rankings, leaving them in between a pair of fellow ACC contenders in North Carolina and Syracuse.

The weekend’s big drop belonged to UCLA, who fell from fifth to 11th following a shocking defeat to Cal Poly. Fellow California powerhouse Stanford also fell following a loss, dropping from 11th to 16th after falling, 2-0, to San Francisco.

A pair of new teams also battled their way into the SBI Top 25, as Delaware and Washington joined the rankings following wins.
