Soccer Sunday: Your Running Commentary

Chelsea

Sunday isn’t the busiest day of soccer action, but several of the game’s heavy hitters take the field on a day that features plenty of interesting matchups.

In England, Premier League contenders Chelsea return to action for a visit to Wales to take on Swansea City. Sunday could see the reintroduction of centerback David Luiz, who could see the field for the club after recently joining from Paris Saint-Germain.

Spanish soccer sees a trio of games, while a clash between Roma and Sampdoria headlines the Serie A slate. Aron Johannsson’s Werder Bremen takes the field against Augsburg in German Bundesliga action, which also features a meeting between Mainz and Hoffenheim.

In the afternoon, MLS returns with a rivalry clash between the New York Red Bulls and D.C. United before the league’s nightcap kicks off between the LA Galaxy and Orlando City. A pair of Americans may take the field in Mexico on Sunday evening as Jonathan Bornstein, Luis Gil and Queretaro take on Pumas/

    • Doesn’t look like it will show the link or the pic so just google josh gatt instagram or twitter or moldefk twitter and you should see the picture of him on the pitch.

    • There is also a post match interview with Josh on the Molde youtube channel, but he’s chewing gum the whole time so that’s a little annoying.

  1. To be balanced, in classic scrappy form, DCU comes back in extra time to tie the game. Glad to take a point away and crush RBNY spirits at least for an afternoon. Still will be a slog to make the playoffs. Vamos United!

  2. Lloyd Sam with the assist to BWP. Good grief DCU is playing like amateurs today – passing to teammates that are man marked tightly, passing to no one in particular, not marking wingers in the defensive third, and being too f***img cutesy on the ball in scoring positions.

Will say this again. DCU is sloppy and lacks intensity, sharpness to me this is the coach. Maybe we scrap into the playoffs and then go out in Round 1.
