Tuesday is a day for cup action, and several American stars may take part in helping their teams advance in domestic competitions.
German soccer headlines a busy day as several Americans face-off in the DFB-Pokal. One of the more in-form players abroad, Timmy Chandler, could be in the lineup for Eintracht Frankfurt for a clash with Alfredo Morales’ Ingolstadt, while John Brooks and Fafa Picault may collide with Hertha Berlin takes on St. Pauli. Fabian Johnson and Andrew Wooten are also in action with their respective clubs, while Bobby Wood and Hamburg look to find some sort of scoring form against third-division Hallescher FC.
The English League Cup will also see action on Tuesday, as Danny Williams’ Reading faces Gedion Zelalem’s Arsenal. Cameron Carter-Vickers will hope to break into a rotates Tottenham squad against Liverpool, while DeAndre Yedlin and Newcastle take on Preston North End.
