Opportunities have been few and far between for Julian Green, but the U.S. Men’s National Team forward made the most of his chance on Wednesday afternoon.
Making his first start of the season for Bayern Munich, Green scored his first competitive goal for the German powerhouse in Wednesday’s DFB Pokal clash with Augsburg. Green’s finish put Bayern up, 2-0, heading into halftime following an early finish from Phillip Lahm.
The USMNT forward’s goal came just moments before halftime. On a cross in from Thomas Muller, Green flicked a header towards the backpost, leaving the goalkeeper helpless as Bayern took a 2-0 lead.
