SBI College Soccer Top 25: October 11th Edition

louisville-syracuse-action-2-2016

The Maryland Terrapins show no signs of wanting to relinquish the top spot in the SBI College Soccer Top 25, but there are definitely teams lining up to pounce if they stumble.

The Terrapins took care of business on Monday in their 1-0 road win against West Virginia, marking Maryland’s fifth-straight shutout win. One of three remaining unbeaten teams in the nation, Maryland has powered through a tough schedule to remain the top team in latest Top 25.

The hottest team in the nation just might be Louisville, which jumped up to N0 2 on the strength of Friday’s win against then-No. 4 Syracuse. The win, added to victories against Notre Dame and suddenly-surging Virginia have the Cardinals looking like a serious title contender.

Creighton was another big mover this week after beating Butler last Friday. The Blue Jays are unbeaten in nine matches, with recent wins against Loyola-Chicago and Butler pushing them into the top 5 for the first time this season.

UConn works its way back into the Top 25, riding a seven-match winning streak to jump back into the rankings.
