The UEFA Champions League Round of 16 draw always matches several of Europe’s heavy hitters, and the 2016-17 draw was no exception.
Barcelona’s clash with Paris-Saint Germain headlines an eventful Round of 16 draw as the UCL moves into the knockout rounds. The matchup provides a rematch of both the 2012-13 and 2014-15 quarterfinals, both of which saw Barca emerge victorious.
It’s not the only match pitting Europe’s elite, as Bayern Munich collides with Arsenal. The two teams have met 10 times since the turn of the century, with Bayern emerging victorious in the two previous ties between the two.
Elsewhere, Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund face Portuguese powerhouse Benfica, reigning champions Real Madrid collide with Napoli and Manchester City collides with Monaco. Reigning runners-up Atletico Madrid face a tough opponent in Bayer Leverkusen, while newcomers Leicester City take on Europe League powerhouses Sevilla. Finally, Juventus’ clash with Porto rounds out the Round of 16 clashes.

Wow Leicester could go deep into this thing. They keep avoiding the big guns…
Well, they won, arguably, the most competitive league in the world. As they should.
Wow really, when did that happen…? Yes, I am aware that they are the EPL defending champions, but they have since returned to earth this season and are currently in 14th place, as everyone expected. So It’s pretty cool (and fairly surprising) they have made it to the knock out round. But they were fortunate to fall into a manageable group. That was my point.
