AC Milan midfielder Keisuke Honda is looking towards a move to the United States, according to his agent, as the Japanese star is set to turn down offers from China in favor of an MLS move. According to reports out of Italy, the Seattle Sounders, LA Galaxy and Sunderland have all registered interest.
“We’ve been in contact with several Chinese clubs,” his agent said. “We declined their offers though because of the problems that Keisuke would have in adapting to China. We definitely prefer MLS. Keisuke isn’t playing much in Milan and he doesn’t want to lose his place in the national team.”
Honda has made eighty appearances for the Italian giants. He has tallied eight goals while at the club while remaining a mainstay of the Japanese national team.
Here is a closer look at more news from around MLS:
RSL reportedly eyeing Slovakian playmaker Rusnak
When Real Salt Lake parted ways with long-time playmaker Javier Morales, attacking midfield became a key area of need this offseason and it appears RSL may have found a replacement for its long-time assist man.
According to Dutch outlet Voetbal, Real Salt Lake has offered Groningen attacking midfielder Albert Rusnak a contract. The former Manchester City attacker is also reportedly a target of AS Roma and Swansea City after scoring nine goals in 61 appearances for the Dutch club.
The 22-year-old Slovakian international can play in any attacking role in midfield, but would fit right in as a central playmaker in place of Morales, who has signed with FC Dallas.
Afful and Accam join Ghana ahead of AFCON
Twenty-two players attended the first Ghana national team training session in preparation for the African Cup of Nations, and two currently ply their trade in MLS.
Columbus Crew right back, Harrison Afful and Chicago Fire playmaker David Accam were seen at the training session held at St.Thomas Aquinas Park, according to Goal.com. Also in camp is former Portland Timbers goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey, who is reportedly in talks with Minnesota United about a move.

Johnson’s Orlando City move made official
After falling just short of an MLS Cup title with Toronto FC, Will Johnson is officially reuniting with a familiar face for his next career move.
Johnson signed a two-year contract with Orlando City after tallying two goals and five assists with TFC in 2016. A two-time MLS Cup champion, Johnson joins Jason Kreis with the Lions after previously working together at Real Salt Lake.
“We are pleased to add Will to the team,” Lions General Manager Niki Budalic said. “He is a proven and accomplished MLS player that knows the league and [Head Coach Jason Kreis’] system very well from their time at Real Salt Lake. We are confident he will help the club achieve its goals moving forward.”
Orlando City’s Rawlins separating from wife, split seen as cause or his stepping down
Phil Rawlins recently stepped down as Orlando City president, and it appears that a personal issue could be behind the change to the club’s front office.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Rawlins’ separation from his wife Kay triggered the change, as CEO Alex Leitao will assume the role as president. As part of the shakeup, Phil Rawlins will stay on as life president while Kay Rawlins will remain in her current role as foundation president and vice president of community relations.
The report states that Orlando City majority owner Flávio Augusto da Silva tried to convince Rawlins to stay on in a larger role before the latter agreed to a position as life president.
Honda would be a great add to LA Galaxy, along with probably Jermaine Jones. Honda’s a 10, Jones is a 6 (and likely could be gotten for $1 million or so, a lot of which you could likely pay down with TAM), and you’d still have a slot open for that third DP to complement Honda and Dos Santos. You’d definitely want some cover for Jones because he’s likely to miss a fair number of games since he’s on the wrong side of 35, but that’s a heckuva core to build around.
Honda would be a huge upgrade for LA lose Gerrard gain Keisuke. A Honda, Lodeiro midfield combo in Seattle would be pretty strong as well.
