The New Year’s period saw several Americans take the field throughout England’s leagues, and it was Brad Guzan that stole the show upon his return to the Middlesbrough lineup.
As rumors of a transfer continue to swirl, Guzan returned in net for Boro, sealing a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw with Leicester City. Guzan provided three saves in his first league appearance since Aug. 28.
DeAndre Yedlin and Eric Lichaj went head-to-head on Friday in a match that saw Newcastle top Nottingham Forest by a 3-1 scoreline. While Yedlin went a full 90 minutes for the victors, Lichaj provided the lone assist for the visitors, ending the 2016 campaign with a positive personal effort even in defeat.
Elsewhere, Danny Williams and Tim Ream saw their clash cut short due to fog, Perry Kitchen and Bjorn Johnsen played 90 minutes in a Hearts loss and David Wagner’s Huddersfield Town settled for a 1-1 draw.

This might not really fit here, but the tribute to Manny Schellsheidt is somehow relevant to anything going on in US soccer. I really liked the video of the nearly 76 Manny playing soccer. http://www.socceramerica.com/article/71821/video-pick-a-1-schellscheidt-still-coaching-an.html?edition=16636#comments
