  1. What has happened to Luis Gil he can’t even dress for a Copa Mx game, it was against a top club, but still.

Los Xolos were in action Tuesday in a 1-0 loss to Cimaronnes de Sonora, Michael Orozco 78 minutes, Paul Arriola subbed on for 23 minutes, Joe Corona 90 minutes, John Requejo 90 minutes.

    • I can recall when Gil burst on the scene at 16 and was one of our most promising youth players. However, even at RSL his last year there he wasn’t a consistent starter. It seems like he plateaued several years ago. He has hardly played at all in Mexico. Still, Bornstein hardly played for a long time in Mexico and then became a mainstay for a couple of seasons and now seems to have slipped back. It may have to do with the club situation; maybe if Gil moved to another club he could see more PT.

      • Bornstein has started their first two league games,so probably just resting the 32 year old midweek.

Gil wasn’t great for the U23s last year, but he wasn’t bad. Perhaps its attitude or work ethic or as you said the manager or the club doesn’t favor him.
