After weeks of speculation and reports, a young American in Europe is indeed on the move to a new team.
U.S. Men’s National Team goalkeeper Ethan Horvath has officially completed his move to Belgian side Club Brugge, the team announced on Tuesday. The 21-year-old American joins his new club after long-standing rumors of his impending departure from Norwegian team Molde.
Horvath has agreed to terms on a four-and-a-half year contract, leaving him with Club Brugge until the end of the 2020-21 season. Brugge are regular competitors representing Belgium in European competition, a place that Horvath is comfortable after earning UEFA Europa League Team of the Week honors this year after a 1-1 draw against Ajax.
The goalkeeper, who will join up with the club in the coming weeks, earned one senior cap after previously featuring for the U.S. Under-23 and Under-20 Men’s National Teams.
