After 14 seasons, two MLS Cups and even an MVP trophy, Mike Magee is stepping away from the field.

Magee announced his retirement on Wednesday, ending a MLS career that saw him feature for the New York Red Bulls/Metrostars, LA Galaxy and Chicago Fire. Magee most recently joined the Galaxy as a free agent, finishing his second stint with the club with six goals and four assists throughout 30 appearances in 2016.

“I have been fortunate to enjoy an incredible 14-year career in Major League Soccer,” said Magee. “It has been an honor to represent the New York Red Bulls, Chicago Fire and the LA Galaxy and to be a part of a league that continues to grow so rapidly in this country. I am extremely thankful to everyone that has supported, inspired and guided me on and off the field throughout my time as a professional. I look forward to the next step in this journey as a spend time with my family and friends.”

Drafted by the Motrostars in 2003, Magee flourished during his first tenure with the Galaxy, winning two MLS Cups and two Supporters’ Shields. A trade to the Chicago Fire led to Magee’s best season, though, as he claimed the 2013 MVP crown with 21 goals and seven assists.

“Mike has been an incredible member and representative of the LA Galaxy and Major League Soccer as a whole,” said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein. “As a teammate and friend, I thank Mike for everything he has done for the city of Los Angeles and the sport of soccer in this country throughout his career. He will be greatly missed on the field and we wish him the best in the next stage of his career. He will always be a member of this club.”
