Red was the color of the day for Tijuana, who escaped their Copa MX clash with three points despite two red cards.
Both John Requejo and Amando Moreno were sent off in Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Correcaminos, as Tijuana overcame the two dismissals to win a vital Copa MX clash. The two red cards came just eight minutes apart, as Requejo was controversially sent off in the 75th before Moreno departed in the 83rd, just 26 minutes after coming on.
In England, the day was a bit better for Danny Williams and Eric Lichaj, who both saw their teams win in Championship play.
Here’s a closer look at Tuesday’s Americans Abroad:
Brad Guzan did not dress in Middlesbrough’s 1-1 draw with West Brom.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Lynden Gooch dressed but did not play in Tottenham’s 0-0 draw with Sunderland.
Danny Williams started and played 90 minutes in Reading’s 1-0 win over Birmingham City.
Eric Lichaj started and played 90 minutes in Nottingham Forest’s 2-1 win over Rotherham United.
John Requejo and Amando Moreno received RED CARDS in Tijuana’s 2-1 win over Correcaminos. Joe Corona and Paul Arriola dressed but did not play while Michael Orozco did not dress.
Jonathan Bornstein did not dress while Luis Gil dressed but did not play in Queretaro’s 1-0 win over Oaxaca.

Did not see Armando do anything wrong to get a red. SMH!
Amando*
They didn’t show Moreno’s red (at least not that I saw). They showed Requejo’s (#2), and I agree that it was a terrible call. He got fouled!
