FC Dallas took care of business in a big way in Thursday night’s CONCACAF Champions League clash with Arabe Unido.
New addition Cristian Colman scored his first FC Dallas goal while Kellyn Acosta added two more of his own to lead the way in the MLS side’s 4-0 beatdown of the Panamanian club at Toyota Stadium. The win sets FC Dallas to all but assuredly advance to the semifinals ahead of their second leg clash in Panama next week.
Colman opened the scoring in the 30th minute, netting his first goal since joining FCD this winter. Following a ball played over his shoulder, Colman smashed a first-time half-volley, opening the scoring in style to send FCD into the locker room up a goal.
From there, Acosta took over, scoring in the 55th on a stunning long-range strike before adding another in the 86th minute. Five minutes after Acosta’s second, Michael Barrios removed all doubt, firing FC Dallas’ fourth goal of the night to seal an overwhelming advantage.
In addition to Colman, several other new faces made their debuts for FC Dallas, including Roland Lamah and Javier Morales, the latter of whom made a 20-minute appearance as a substitute.
FC Dallas and Arabe Unido return to action on Wednesday as FC Dallas look to book a date with the winner of Pachuca’s clash with Saprissa.
