There were only two matches on Sunday, but the Chicago Fire caught the attention of many in MLS after defeating Miami FC, 5-2.

It wasn’t just the victory that grabbed the headlines, though. This fantastic team goal sent fans into a frenzy after the Fire sliced through Miami with fluidity.

David Accam, Luis Solignac, David Arshakyan, John Goossens and Arturo Alvarez all scored for Chicago. Dylan Mares and Ariel Martinez were on the scoresheet for Miami.

Toronto FC win a pair of friendlies over Orlando City

Toronto FC and Orlando City played two friendlies on Sunday. TFC emerged victorious, 3-1 and 4-0, respectively as both sides fielded a split squad for either match.

Jozy Altidore opened the scoring in the first game after just four minutes. Kaka buried a penalty to pull Orlando level, but then Sebastian Giovinco took over.

The Italian showed that he’s in regular-season form after executing a free kick over the wall and into the lower corner to give TFC the lead again. Justin Morrow added the third for Toronto to seal the win.

The second game ended 4-0 in favor of a rotated TFC. Former U.S. youth international Ben Spencer and trialist Aikim Andrews were among the scorers for the Reds.

David Villa sent off in NYCFC loss to Dynamo

Video replay has been prevalent during preseason and it came in handy again on Saturday.

Reigning MLS MVP David Villa canceled out Romell Quioto’s second-minute strike, but was then sent off after slapping Dynamo defender A.J. DeLaGarza in the face after a video review.

In the end, it was Houston who reigned supreme as Alex and Memo Rodriguez gave the Dynamo a 3-1 lead, and eventual win, in the second half.

Sporting KC shut out young Red Bulls team

Sporting Kansas City and the New York Red Bulls highlighted the preseason action on Saturday in the Desert Diamond Cup. Sporting emerged 3-0 victors over a Red Bulls side that was mostly made up of Red Bulls II players, trialists and academy products.

Dom Dwyer gave Sporting a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute from the penalty spot, but the Red Bulls managed to hold on for the majority of the game.

Eventually, Cameron Porter and Daniel Salloi put the match to bed on 82 minutes and 87 minutes, respectively.

New York faces the Vancouver Whitecaps in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League semifinal on Wednesday at Red Bull Arena.
