Geoff Cameron’s road to recovery took a major step on Saturday.
After returning as a substitute last week, Cameron started and went a full 90 minutes in Stoke City’ 2-0 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday. The start was Cameron’s first since suffering a knee injury on Oct. 22.
A pair of Marco Arnautovic goals were enough for Stoke City, who sent Middlesbrough into the relegation zone with Saturday’s win.
Cameron’s return comes at a big time for the U.S. Men’s National Team. After dropping the first two World Cup qualifiers with Cameron out of action, the U.S. returns on March 24 and 28 for vital World Cup qualifiers against Panama and Honduras.
Stoke City returns to action on Wednesday for a match against Manchester City.
Good to see Cameron back healthy and in action. With Cameron & Fabian back, Brooks in great form, and Yedlin playing well in the Championship the USMNT back-line looks to be back to full strength heading into these must win qualifiers.
Wood & Pulisic are enjoying a good run of form at the moment so that just leaves our MLS players needing to round into form. Now that the season has started hopefully they’ll be able to knock off any rust over the next week or so and be primed to get the wins later this month.
