U.S. U-20 goalkeeper Marcinkowski training with Eintracht Frankfurt

Another U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team goalkeeper is testing the European waters.

U-20 goalkeeper J.T. Marcinkowski is in training with German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt, the club revealed on Tuesday. The Georgetown goalkeeper was recently a member of the U.S. squad that won the U-20 CONCACAF Championship, with Marcinkowski appearing once during the team’s run to the title. Marcinkowski also recently joined the U.S. U-20s for a training camp in London as head coach Tab Ramos assesses options ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

The Georgetown star isn’t the only U-20 goalkeeper to head to Europe in recent weeks, as he joins teammate Jonathan Klinsmann in pursuing training stints abroad. Klinsmann recently trained with 2. Bundesliga side Stuttgart before being linked with a training stint with English Premier League club Everton.

Marcinkowski, a former member of the San Jose Earthquakes academy, recently completed his sophomore year with the Hoyas, making 15 appearances in NCAA play.

  1. tipped to be a better keeper than Klinsmann by some knowledgeable folks. If he has a foreign passport, he probably will get a spot somewhere, without one, harder, but still possible.
