Soccer Monday: Your Running Commentary

The schedule is light to begin the week, but a pair of European matches comprise the Monday slate.

Watford is well within the realm of safety, and they’ll look to keep it that way as they take on Liverpool, who are battling it out for one of the Champions League positions. The Hornets currently sit eight points above relegation-threatened Swansea City and sit in strong position with just four matches left to play in the Premier League season and a match in hand on the Swans, leaving them able to clinch safety this afternoon. The Reds, meanwhile, sit in third place, even with Manchester City and one point above Manchester United.

Elsewhere, Malaga clash with Sevilla in a La Liga weekday showdown. The hosts sit bottom half, but with next season already secured in the top flight, leaving them with motivation to play spoilers to Sevilla’s top three hopes. The visitors sit three points behind Atletico Madrid and hope to keep up with the three giants above them.

Here’s a look at Monday’s schedule:

Comments

      • With him joining up with the u20’s and possibly ccv, Perez and the schalke trio that makes for a pretty promising roster. Would like to see some roster predictions and who gets left out

      • Word is CCV has a knee injury and was ruled out of playing for Spurs. Perhaps that’s to keep him available for u20 duty with Spurs unlikely to use him during their attempt to win the title, but he may not be available. Sliding EPB back to CB would then create a hole in DM so we’ll see when the roster is released.
