Americans Abroad Weekend Preview: Fabian Johnson, Christian Pulisic and more

With World Cup qualifiers right around the corner, several U.S. Men’s National Team stars will take the field one last time on the club level before moving on to international action.

Fabian Johnson may or may not be on the USMNT squad due to a lingering injury, but he could make his return for Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday against Augsburg. The USMNT winger missed last week’s match due to a back injury, and it remains to be seen if he’ll be excluded from USMNT duty alongside John Brooks an DeAndre Yedlin due to his injury issues.

Christian Pulisic is a lock to make the U.S. squad, and he’ll lead Borussia Dortmund against Hertha Berlin after shining during the opening weekend of Bundesliga play. Bobby Wood and Hamburg, meanwhile, face FC Koln while Timmy Chandler and Eintracht Frankfurt face a Brooks-less Wolfsburg.

Elsewhere, Geoff Cameron and Stoke City face West Brom while Omar Gonzalez and Pachuca face Michael Orozco, Joe Corona and Club Tijuana.
