The 20-year-old added an assist in Bolton’s 1-1 draw at Macron Stadium, which was his second in his last two league appearances. The home point moved Bolton up to 19th in the league standings, two points clear of the relegation zone. Ream went the full 90+ minutes for the visitors in the draw. I thought Yedlin had a pretty good game with Newcastle. He did a pretty good job of limiting Alexis Sanchez chances and saved a one off the line when defending a corner late in the game. There was an instance in the second half where he got forward and had the opportunity to cross but hesitated and missed the opportunity. He also had a few instances where he cleared the ball instead of making a simple pass to relieve pressure…but all in all I thought he looked pretty good playing against world class players.
McKennie didn’t start for Schalke and I didn’t watch the whole game to see if he came on at all. What’s with Brooks? Wolfsburg paid big money for him, but he’s missed about the last 4 games. No mention of an injury here. Has he really fallen out of favor, or what? I think AJ did well enough to warrant another start in their next game, but I’m not the manager.
McKennie and Brooks have both been injured. Brooks has been a lock starter when healthy.
Funny to see Landon on this list. Novakavich is making some noise. And good to see Hamid at least has the backup role on his new team. And Julian and Jorge going 90 is always a good thing. Solid week.
