Timmy Chandler is in the midst of another standout season in the German Bundesliga, and is growing as an attacking threat.
Chandler added to his numbers on Monday, scoring Eintracht’s opening goal in a 2-1 Bundesliga victory over RB Leipzig. The U.S. international showed composure, slotting home Ante Rebic’s assist on a Frankfurt fast break.

2018 has not seen Chandler let up, as the defender now has two goals in his last five appearances.
Eintracht saw an eight-match unbeaten run snapped earlier this month against Augsburg, but got back to winning ways last week against Cologne.
Let’s be honest he doesn’t play as a defender for Eintracht, yes with a 3 man backline, he has more defensive responsibility than a midfielder with a 4 man backline.
he has been a capable defender for years in the Bundesliga, and he his quality is showing on the left even as a right footed player. I don’t think we should diminish his success this season because he is playing more wingback, and actually i would attribute it more to him being healthy finally! He definitely deserves a call up in March, as our LB/LWB
Ronnie’s I know you follow US players closely, but a lot of fans come here for there sole information, when the article says the defender scored 2 goals in his last five games that could be very misleading. Timmy can certainly play FB and should still be invited to camps but his resurgence at Eintracht has come since being moved to the Midfield.
If Chandler wanted to be with the USMNT, he would’ve been.
Timmy, made “The usa soccer international day in monday”,now you looks better much better,,playing like a warrior, almost the bes of the team, yes you deserved to be in USAMNT
That’s as many league goals as Pulisic.
That’s also two more goals than Jonathan Gonzalez, while playing in a much more competitive league.
Dear Timothy Chandler,
As a USMNT fan, I always believed in you and completely understood your Nurnberg club always tried to block you from coming to USMNT camps and the responsibility you had to deal with that day 3 years ago down in Honduras (manning the whole right flank by yourself due to formation) in extreme heat. But at the end of the day you at least ran your ass off and tried while our captain jogs around a few months ago in T&T in a sense of entitlement.
Hopefully, your best USMNT days are ahead…
very well said
Any excuse to slam Bradley, eh? Some class.
classic usmnt fanbase comment. praise one player for the purpose of slamming another. what perfects this comment is that one thing bradley specifically *shouldn’t* be faulted for is his work rate in the t&t game—he was put into a losing situation, and, what do you know, he lost.
