U.S. Men’s National Team defender Erik Palmer-Brown has been sent out on loan for the upcoming 2018-19 season.
The 21-year-old who is under contract with EPL giants Manchester City has been loaned to Eredivisie outfit NAC Breda.
Palmer-Brown joined Man City from Sporting Kansas City last January and spent the second half of the season on-loan at KV Kortrijk of the Belgian first tier. He made nine appearances with Kortrijk last season seeing time mainly at centerback.
He also has two caps with the U.S. Men’s National Team, recently being a part of their summer camp in May.

Breda finished 14th in the Eredivisie table last season, totaling 34 points. They kick off their next campaign on Aug. 12th against AZ Alkmaar.
As with Miazga, Green, and others, the issue is not any individual loan but the fact you aren’t really with the big club people claim will make you awesome, you’re instead sent on a succession of loans, and sometimes the big club lets you go to a comfortable home, and sometimes they yank you back and sell you someplace awkward. Unless like Pulisic you literally go into the first team, I’m not sold it’s that great a deal. You aren’t really training under the Name Brand Coach for the Big Club. Why not sign for Vitesse directly. Take less money and exercise more control over your career and whether your destinations fit.

Coorect but both played for City before they were bought and had hundreds of millions injected into the club. They played for mediocre Man City teams that never competed for a trophy.
City are going to sell him, no questions. At least he is getting these loan minutes. If he does well enough, he’ll move somewhere else. It’s a good move
You may be right that the plan is to sell him, however, he still would be likely unable to get a work permit in England this season, given his short time in Belgium and not featuring enough yet for the USMNT. To automatically qualify EPB would need to have played in 60% of the USMNT matches over the last two years (he’s played in 2matches or about 6%). There are other ways to qualify, but that’s the easiest. If you don’t meet that criteria there is a point system which EPB mostly doesn’t qualify for (most defensive players probably don’t), so becoming a starter at Breda and doing well could earn him a waiver.
They will fart around for half the contract seeing if he takes off, loan him repeatedly (but to new places each time), let him find someplace he likes, then sell him someplace else.
Again you might be right, but they are not allowed to play him now even if they wanted to, he doesn’t qualify for a work permit. The only reason Miazga played two games for Chelsea was his EU passport.
